Wow, before you scroll down and read this story we're just going to give you a warning -- you might lose your lunch looking at these pictures. Brandon here took quite the slam trying to ollie a set, and he's stuck with an injury for the rest of his life. But like a trooper, he has started skating again. Read his story below.

Hi, my name is Brandon Hauer. I have skateboarded all my life and about 10 months ago I broke every single bone in my foot and I couldn't walk for five and a half months. All together, I had seven pins, a metal plate, and two screws in my foot. (The two screws are permanent, but everything else was taken out.) I can't do any of the tricks I used to be able to do because my foot has no motion at all. I also will never be able to skate any thing with high impact or I will re injure my foot and never be able to walk again.

The injuries included a complete dislocation of the main bone in the foot, which was fixed by the pins. The entire right side of my foot was shattered, and that was fixed by a bridging plate and bone graphing, which is when they take another person's bone (or donor bone) and they put it in my foot. It will fuse with the other bones and it has worked, thankfully. I have gone through three surgeries and I was just able to start skateboarding again about two months ago.
